| BIOGRAPHY of ANNA PIETRZKIEWICZ-SOLTYK |
Born in Poland, received a Master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Experience as a freelance graphic designer included orders from major Polish publishers for numerous book covers and illustrations. Worked with many corporations, for whom she designed brochures, logos, trade marks, posters, as well as packaging. Throughout the years have also continued creating oil painting, pencil and pastel drawings. Nature has always been my greatest inspiration, reflected as a recurrent theme throughout my work. Love of nature began in childhood, when I spent summers in the countryside by the Baltic Sea and in the Tatra Mountains. Inspired by the richness of old Polish folk art and its regional diversity and uniqueness of style, I carved linocuts hand printed on linen made in the countryside of Poland. Since immigration from Poland with my husband and two daughters in 1985, I have continued to pursue my love of artistic expression by drawing and painting. In the past few years, I also have explored other artistic fields such as ceramics, weaving and mosaics. As a member of the Liverpool art Guild I was involved in several group art shows. A member of the Visual arts Committee of the Syracuse Cultural Resources Council. |
